Covid-19 impact on Bajaj Finance seen to be temporary, say analysts
Bajaj Finance recently outlined the impact of the second wave of covid-19 infections on its business, analysts said the moderation would be temporary."We see temporary moderation in these businesses and expect some part of the lost demand to be compensated by the start of the unlocking," analysts at Motilal Oswal said in a report on 6 June.“With good pent-up demand, we may see a positive surprise in the second half– provided there is no impact in the form of a third covid-19 wave, or the wave is less intense in nature," the report said. The non-bank lender said on 4 June that business-to-business (B2B) and auto finance businesses were most affected due to strict lockdowns in majority of states.

Bajaj Finance investors need to trim expectations as second covid wave hits
Bajaj Finance Ltd has become the first lender to indicate that investors need to tone down their expectations. In an early update on the quarter, the lender has estimated that its asset under management (AUM) will take a hit of Rs4,000 crore-Rs5,000 crore in the current financial year and much of this would be felt in the first quarter. The reason is that lockdowns were large scale and strict in May, with most large states imposing curbs following the second wave coronavirus infections.
