Thanks to the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS), Kathleen Lanphere is getting back one of the two jobs she lost amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
But that will leave her worse off, financially, than she was before. That’s because Lanphere, a Newmarket, Ont.-based dental hygienist, will likely become ineligible for the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB), which pays $2,000 a month to Canadians who’ve lost all or most of their income due to COVID-19.
