Six workers at a Mr Kipling bakery have tested positive for coronavirus and are now self-isolating at home. The factory in Trent Vale, Stoke-on-Trent continues to operate despite the positive test results for the workers, who are still receiving full pay, according to owner Premier Foods.
As it attempted to reassure customers and local residents, the firm said it is believed the staff members, who represent 0.9 per cent of the site's workforce, caught the virus in the community.
A number of colleagues who had close contacted with the infected workers, through car sharing, for example, are now self-isolating at home as a precaution, StokeonTrentLive reported.
