Sleeping lions take advantage of coronavirus lockdown to enjoy nap in middle of road

The coronavirus pandemic is nothing short of a disaster for humans, but for the natural world it has been a game-changer. Richard Sowry, a park ranger in South Africa's Kruger National Park, spotted this pride of lions chilling on a warm road and taking no interest as he approached. "This lion pride are usually resident on Kempiana Contractual Park, an area Kruger tourists do not see," he tweeted. "This afternoon they were lying on the tar road just outside of Orpen Rest Camp.” The roads are generally busy with tourists being driven to see the park’s extraordinary range of animals.
