Spain says incinerators are 'at breaking point' as hundreds of bodies arrive daily

Madrid is facing the horror scenario of not being able to cope with coronavirus cremations as incinerators in the city deal with up to 165 bodies a day.

Spain's capital has seen more than 4,000 people die from the deadly disease, becoming one of the world's Covid-19 epicentres, Bodies are stacking up in the two temporary morgues of the Ice Palace and "donut" building in the uncompleted City of Justice.

The city council has admitted it "cannot keep up with cremations" and its own incinerators, as well as the 48 private ones, are working to over-capacity and "at breaking point".
