FIFA bigwig Michel D'Hooghe believes UEFA will make the call to abandon this season imminently. Scottish football is currently in a state of limbo after the chaotic SPFL vote on Friday as clubs are left clueless over what will happen next.
Each league had to approve the resolution to finish the season by 75 per cent and it passed in every division bar the Championship. But D'Hooghe reckons UEFA could now be set for a change of heart. The governing body have hired world-renowned Belgian virologist Marc Van Ranst to advise them about the future impact of the coronavirus and he has urged them to forget about any prospect of playing out the remainder of the season.
