Star Wars Celebration cancelled until 2022 as coronavirus pushes event back two years

Star Wars will have to wait two more years until the next Star Wars Celebration, as organisers have decided to postpone this year and next year’s event due to coronavirus.

Due to take place between 27 and 30 August at the Anaheim Convention Center, it was announced that not only is this year’s event cancelled, it won’t return until 2022.

An announcement on the Star Wars site read: ‘To our Star Wars Celebration fans and friends,‘At Star Wars Celebration, the health and safety of our fans, attendees, exhibitors, guests and staff is always our number one priority. ‘Due to the global impact of the COVID-19 virus and in speaking with local and state authorities on the latest public health guidelines related to indoor conventions, we have made.
