Steph McGovern apologises after Matt Lucas says a rude word live on her new daytime show

Steph McGovern had to scold Matt Lucas today after he said a rude word during the live broadcast of her new Channel 4 show. The TV presenter was hosting The Steph Show from her home and welcomed the Little Britain star on for an interview.

But the comic - who was recently announced as the Great British Bake Off’s new presenter, replacing Sandi Toksvig - didn’t manage to get far before he let out a little swear word.

Matt was promoting his coronavirus song Thank You Baked Potato, which he has released to raise funds for the FeedNHS campaign, which provides meals across Britain for NHS workers.

The 46-year-old said: "I's been amazing the song, because as you can see people have been recording their own versions and putting them up on Twitter.
