Strictly's Amy Dowden gives health update as she reaches cancer treatment milestone

Strictly Come Dancing has been missing one of its favourite professionals this series. Welsh dancer Amy Dowden has been undergoing her own challenge since a cancer diagnosis in May 2023.

The 33-year-old appeared on Saturday's (October 7) episode as a special surprise guest and fans went mad for her. Tonight (Wednesday), on Strictly: It Takes Two, she spoke to host Janette Manrara about her cancer treatment.

Fans will remember that Amy underwent a mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in May, but in July she received a second diagnosis of "another type of cancer".

Speaking on It Takes Two - wearing her newly-fitted wig - she revealed that she is close to a treatment milestone for her current cancer. She was honest about the journey so far, adding: "I'm not going to lie, it is pretty tough, but I am feeling strong and positive." Fans were behind Amy on her latest appearance.
