Sri Lanka hopes for stronger relations with Saudi Arabia

The agency’s public information officer Felicia Sotelo told FOX Television Stations that the men rode into a bowl-like depression on their snowmobiles and were unable to get out. "[They] essentially were stranded," Sotelo shared, noting that their tracked vehicles were low on fuel."They didn’t plan on being out all day," she continued. "They built a snow cave, they built a fire." The individuals utilized a SPOT location device, making it possible for the men to communicate with emergency officials, which assisted the rescue team in locating them. President Ranil Wickremesinghe instructed the officials to speed up the Minipe Left Bank Canal Rehabilitation Project (MLBCRP), which has been delayed for over three years owing to various reasons, and to provide its benefits to the farmers before the next Maha Season.The President provided these instructions on Sunday (19) while joining an observation tour of the Minipe Anicut construction site.President Wickremesinghe, after inspecting the plan of the project, also inquired from the engineers about the operation of the project.The President also pointed out the possibility of obtaining the support of the students of engineering faculties in Sri Lanka for the future work of the project.The existing anicut is not sufficient to release water to the left and right bank canals when water is released twice a day from the Rantambe Hydro Power Plant during peak demand for electricity. Philadelphia DA: Mom charged with violent abuse of 2 kids after 3-year-old's suspicious death

PHILADELPHIA - A 23-year-old mother is now being charged in connection to the abuse of her own children after a 3-year-old child was found unresponsive and bruised in her West Philadelphia home on Friday. Police made the horrifying discovery when responding to a residence on the 400 block of 50th Street around 2:30 a.m. The 3-year-old was pronounced dead at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia a short time later.Officials say the young girl was unresponsive in a bathtub with no water, and had bruises on her body.Two other children, ages 2 and 4, found inside the home were also transported to a local hospital for bruises and burns to their bodies, according to authorities. MORE HEADLINES:Officials say they are the children of Kiarali Rodriguez-Ayala, who has been arrested and charged for their violent abuse. The 3-year-old child is said not be a relative of Rodriguez-Ayala, but was under her care at the time. An investigation into her death is still active with the Special Victims Unit.
