Scientists identify targets for COVID-19 vaccine
NEW DELHI : Scientists have identified regions of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 to target with a vaccine, by harnessing tools used for the development of cancer immunotherapies. The researchers at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in the US employed the same approach used to elicit an immune response against cancer cells to stimulate an immune response against the novel coronavirus.Using this strategy, the researchers believe a resulting vaccine would provide protection across the human population and drive a long-term immune response."In many ways, cancer behaves like a virus, so our team decided to use the tools we developed to identify unique aspects of childhood cancers that can be targeted with immunotherapies and

Power Grid faces limited hit from covid-19 rebates but growth outlook is dim
₹1,075 crore to electricity distribution companies (discoms) and state electricity boards. As part of the economic stimulus package, the government last month had asked Power Grid to consider offering a rebate of 20-25% on interstate transmission charges for the period of the lockdown.Shutdown of industries and commercial establishments adversely impacted cash flows of discoms, necessitating relief measures by the government. According to Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd, the rebate pertains to April and May when major parts of the country were placed under a lockdown.A rebate of ₹1,075 crore will be a 10% hit to annual profit, similar to what the Street had anticipated.

AP Exclusive: The Dalai Lama to release 1st album in July
NEW YORK – Stressed out while working at a bank in New Zealand, Junelle Kunin began searching for music paired with teachings from the Dalai Lama to calm herself down and allow herself to focus. But she couldn’t find it online. That’s when the musician and practicing Buddhist proposed an idea to The Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama: Let’s make an album fusing music with mantras and chants from the Tibetan spiritual leader. She was politely turned down. But on a trip to India — where Kunin says she typically gets a chance to meet the Dalai Lama — she asked again, this time writing a letter and handing it to one of his assistants.Five years later, “Inner World” is born.
