Greater Manchester has seen a spike in coronavirus cases today - although the overall infection rate continues on a downward trend.There were 2,587 positive results added on Thursday, the latest figures show.That is a considerable increase on yesterday's increase of 1,811.However, there often tends to be a bump in numbers on Thursday due to the delay in figures coming through from the weekend.In general, the region's infection rate continues to decrease in almost every borough and is now at 504 cases per 100,000 people.That compares to 260 cases per 100,000 people on average in England.Only Rochdale has seen a slight increase in cases today of 3 per cent, while Trafford stays virtually even.The other boroughs are all seeing positive results.
