Oldham still has the highest COVID-19 infection rate in the region, the latest Public Health England data shows. The borough recorded a rate of 595.5 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending July 4. In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 478.5 cases per 100,000 population. The infection rate in the region is higher than the national average, which is 274.1 cases per 100,000 people.
