Theater owners praised U.S. House of Representative lawmakers on Wednesday for approving President Joe Biden's $1.9 trillion pandemic relief.
The president is expected to sign the American Rescue Plan, which has already been passed by the Senate, by Friday. "The Plan extends critical unemployment benefits to our furloughed workers, and preserves and expands important tax relief programs that give a much needed lifeline to movie theater companies of all sizes affected by the pandemic," the National Association of Theatre Owners said in a statement.
