An urgent appeal for the Government to secure the future of 3,000 local charities hit by the coronavirus crisis has been made by The Health Lottery.
Joint group managing director Martin Ellice said a significant number of charities face the threat of closure without extra incentives to support the work they do for 560,000 people across the country.
Mr Ellice said: "A staggering amount of income is being wiped out as fundraising drives are cancelled and the lockdown hits normal charitable activity. "No-one could have predicted this pandemic or the devastating impact on their community charities. "UK charities could lose £4.3billion in income over the next 12 weeks - many are on their knees at a time when we need them most." Mr Ellice
