from coronavirus in Greater Manchester hospitals in the last 24 hours. The NHS publishes daily data for every hospital trust in England, documenting every death as a result of coronavirus. These are cases where the patient has tested positive or Covid-19 is mentioned on their death certificate. However they often include previously uncounted deaths that took place several days or even weeks ago. That's because of the time it takes for deaths to be confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19, for post-mortem examinations to be processed and for data from the tests to be validated. So far 1,928 lives have been claimed by the virus in our region's hospitals. That's an increase of three from 1,925 yesterday.Sunday was the first time during lockdown.
