Don't miss a thing that's happening in and around Bury by signing up to the free MyBury newsletterTributes have been paid to a popular police officer who died after contracting coronavirus.Jon Wain, who had been working as a PC in Bury for 17 years, passed away on Monday following a battle with Covid-19.The 49-year-old leaves behind his partner and two sons.Brett Grange, an officer who worked with Jon, said he would be missed by all his colleagues and described him as a quiet man who was funny and well-liked by his peers.Speaking on behalf of the Greater Manchester Police Federation, he said: "I last saw Jon late last year walking his dog, we had a brief socially distant chat on the street and I left him with the words 'look after yourself.
