Twins born weighing 3lbs between them sent home on their due date

Twin girls who weighed under 2lbs each when they were born were taken home for the first time on their due date. Demi Crozier gave birth to her twin daughters 14 weeks early, with them weighing 1lb4oz and 1lb13oz.

The pair were close to not making it, with one of the girls needing heart surgery at six weeks old, Chronicle Live reported.

Now Aabriella and Aarielle are about to celebrate the first birthday their mum thought she might not see. The day is a special one, despite the family being in isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic due to the twins' chronic lung disease.
