Two more postcodes will be given door-to-door "surge" Covid testing after the South Africa variant was detected. All adults will be able to be tested in the Worcestershire County Council areas WR3 and parts of the WR9 postcode.

A testing unit has been set up at The White Hart pub in Fernhill Heath, near Worcester for adults who are displaying no symptoms and live within walking distance from the unit.

Home testing kits are also being made available in a bid to test as many people as possible. Officials are desperate to contain the South Africa strain of Covid as some experts fear vaccines may be less effective against it.
