A fit and healthy Uber driver who died alone from coronavirus had expressed concern about a woman who "repeatedly coughed" in his cab before his death.

Ayub Akhtar died last Friday while alone in intensive care, without his family. The 33-year-old, from Norwood, south London, sent a heartbreaking text to his family from his hospital bed telling them to "pray for me" before his death as he was "scared".

Speaking to Mail Online, Mr Akhtar's brother, Yasser, described his brother's deteriorating condition. "It has all happened so quick, it destroyed him," he said.

Shortly after picking up the woman in his cab, who his family said was coughing repeatedly, Mr Akhtar began to have breathing problems.
