Boris Johnson's fiancee Carrie Symonds has given birth to a baby boy – just weeks after the PM was fighting for life in intensive care.
A Downing Street spokesman said: "The Prime Minister and Ms Symonds are thrilled to announce the birth of a healthy baby boy at a London hospital earlier this morning. "Both mother and baby are doing very well. "The PM and Ms Symonds would like to thank the fantastic NHS maternity team." The newborn – who bookmaker Coral gave 8/1 odds of becoming PM one day – is thought to be Carrie's first child, and Boris's seventh.
It comes just weeks after the PM was reportedly “close to death” during his battle with coronavirus. He was first admitted to hospital on Sunday, April 5, before he was rushed to intensive
