A joint letter from Uefa, the European Club Association and the European Leagues says plans are underway to resume seasons in July and abandoning competitions should be a 'last resort'.
The elite European football leagues have suspended fixtures indefinitely amid the coronavirus pandemic and on Thursday the Belgian league abandoned its season, proclaiming Club Brugge as champions.
However, the Belgian league had one round of fixtures left to fulfil before the play-offs between the top six clubs, which have been scrapped.
