UK coronavirus death toll rises by 85 in past 24 hours

coronavirus  have been recorded by the Department of Health in the last 24 hours. The death toll now stands at 44,602 - up from 44,517 the previous day.Today's figures are down on last Thursday's daily deaths increase which was 89 and that of June 25 which saw a rise of 149.A further 642 people have tested positive for the virus, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to xx from 286,979 at the same point yesterday.The number of cases is up compared to last Thursday's 576.More than 11.2 million tests have now been carried out in the UK, including 245,507 yesterday.A further 22 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths in hospitals to 28,991, NHS England.
