The number of coronavirus hospital deaths in Britain has increased by 191 - a decline of almost a quarter on last week's total.
A further 178 patients have died in England, nine in Wales, and four in Northern Ireland. Scotland reported no new deaths today.
The daily number of fatalities is down by 24 per cent per cent on last Monday, when 251 deaths were announced. The tolls announced on previous Mondays were 342 on February 8, 394 on February 1, 653 on January 25, and 571 on January 18.
The latest figures were announced as a Government adviser warned that further restrictions could be needed in the winter if there are variants that "do escape immunity".
