A new cold weather health alert has been issued for the north west of England as temperatures are set to plunge once again, with the potential for 'substantial snow' to hit the UK.
The Met Office said parts of the UK could see disruption caused by snow from the end of this week as Arctic air plunges temperatures down further.
The UKHSA has put in place a yellow health alert for all nine regions of England, with the warning set to be in force until Thursday, January 18, at 12pm.
