A mental health lecturer who spent her career trying to improve the wellbeing of others took her own life two days into lockdown, an inquest has heard.

Dr Naomi Ruth Fisher, who was described as a passionate friend and a great thinker, was found dead at her home in Lancaster, Lancashire, on March 25.

The 42-year-old lecturer at Lancaster University took her own life just two days after Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a nationwide lockdown, on March 23, Lancashire Live reports.

At an inquest held yesterday in Preston, coroner James Newman concluded the educator had died from suicide after a long battle with depression and bipolar disorder.
