People living on Manchester’s streets will be able to use short stay accommodation at a former house in multiple occupation (HMO) to meet ‘significant’ demand.
The council has approved a change in use for the house on Upper Brook Street, having approved another scheme by the same applicant at another property further up the road.
A total of 16 ensuite bedrooms will be made available for prospective tenants - all single men - for up to eight weeks, with a shared kitchen area and social space also provided.
The accommodation is aimed at supporting those with various mental health problems, and an office will be manned by staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
