The US Surgeon General has released a video showing the public how to make a homemade cloth face mask. The Centers for Disease Control in the United States has recommended Americans wear a cloth face covering to slow the transmission of the coronavirus.
In a video posted online, Surgeon General Jerome Adams demonstrates how items like a scarf, hand towel or T-shirt can be transformed into a face covering.
Dr Adams rolls up a T-shirt and uses two rubber bands to hold it behind his ears. Last week US President Donald Trump said the US government is now recommending Americans wear cloth face coverings voluntarily to stem the spread of the deadly coronavirus.
