One resident from Brimbank told the Daily Mail he heard on the radio that people were stockpiling, and he didn't want to miss out if the rumours were true. "I'm not getting caught out again," he said.
He added that he has warned his family and friends and they too have gone to stock up on toilet paper. Since the new panic-buying photos have been released, the fear has spread past local communities and out to suburbs in the far west of Hoppers Crossing and Werribee.
