New Delhi: The government is expected to take a call on activation of new SIMs during lockdown or curfew, after reviewing security-related issues that may arise in the process, telecom industry body COAI said on Monday.
Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) Director General Rajan Mathews said the industry has been able to resolve network issues to the minimal with support of the government. "The DoT (Department of Telecommunications) will take a call on SIM activation after reviewing security-related issues around it because the SIM will have to be delivered on the doorstep during the lockdown," Mathews said.
