NORTH PHILADELPHIA - A 15-year-old boy was shot at Dendy Rec Center in North Philadelphia Wednesday afternoon. He was taken by ambulance to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children where he is listed as stable.

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office has announced charges in connection with a shooting and car chase that ended in a crash on I-76 in South Philadelphia. Just before 3 a.m. Wednesday morning, police responded to a report of a shooting at FDR Park and a crash on I-76 near Passyunk Avenue. Officers responded to the scene on the highway and found a Ford SUV and Infiniti Sedan had been involved in a crash. Two people were found inside of the Ford SUV, including a 27-year-old man who was in the backseat suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.

PHILADELPHIA - Police are investigating a shooting in Philadelphia that left a man critically injured, authorities say. According to police, the shooting occurred on Wednesday night, just before midnight, on the 4000 block of Wallace Street in the Powelton section of the city. Officials say a 27-year-old man was shot once in the cheek and once in the neck. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESHe was transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was placed in critical condition, authorities say. Officials say the scene was held and no weapon was recovered. 

PHILADELPHIA - Investigators with the Philadelphia Police Department's Shooting Investigation Group are asking for the public's help to identify two suspects wanted in connection with a Center City shooting. Authorities say the shooting occurred on April 4 around 7:30 p.m. on the 900 block of Filbert Street in the Center City section of the city. A 39-year-old off-duty security guard who works at the Fashion District was walking to catch the bus when he realized he was shot in the leg, police say. Authorities say an off-duty security guard at Philadelphia's Fashion District was shot in the leg while walking to a bus stop on Tuesday.

PHILADELPHIA - A man is dead and another is in critical condition after police say their vehicle was peppered with gunfire Tuesday night in Philadelphia's Fairhill neighborhood. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to the intersection of 3rd and Ontario streets around 8:30 p.m.

The windshield of the vehicle was removed and left on the owners front lawn, according to police. GPS data last tracked the car roughly 20 miles away in Cinnaminson, New Jersey.

ORLANDO, Fla. - A grown man's profanity-laced temper tantrum over a crying baby aboard a Southwest flight to Florida has gone viral after portions of the minutes-long rant were recorded and posted on TikTok.According to Mark Grabowski, a passenger who was on the flight and recorded the video, the plane was headed to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Monday but was delayed in the air for about an hour due to weather. It was eventually diverted to Orlando International Airport (MCO)."It was a little bumpy and uncomfortable for everyone and the child was upset, but we couldn't get up because of the weather, and we were strapped in our seats," said Mark Grabowski in an interview with FOX 35. "Just out of nowhere this other passenger in the video basically said shut that baby up, and it escalated from there," he said, adding that Southwest's flight attendants were quick to act and moved a woman and the baby to another part of the plane."Can you calm the child down, please? FAIRMOUNT - The School District of Philadelphia and other city departments are gearing up for summer and they want to get the word out on programs that will be available for kids and teens.The drum line at West Philadelphia High School played Wednesday morning to welcome school district officials, as Superintendent Tony Watlington, and others, rolled out their summer learning program.The district said it would offer 15,000 students places to learn and play this summer in over 100 school buildings. The district urges parents to act quickly as the slots are expected fill rapidly.

NEWARK, Del. - A home invasion turned deadly when a homeowner decided to take matters into his own hands, and fight back against a trio of intruders.Police arrived to find a 25-year-old suspect dead on the second floor of house on Clipper Court Tuesday night.The suspect was shot several times by the homeowner after ransacking his house with another suspect, 20-year-old Nadir Everett, according to authorities.After the suspects threatened the homeowner, and started stealing items, police say the homeowner grabbed his firearm and opened fire.MORE HEADLINES:The 25-year-old suffered fatal injuries, while Everett fled the scene with a third suspect, identified as 24-year-old Malik Dennison.Everett, who also suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was taken into custody with Dennison at a local hospital.The homeowner did suffer a gunshot fired by one of the suspects, police say.

NEWARK, Del. - Delaware State Police say a teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with a violent shooting that sent shoppers running for safety at the Christiana Mall earlier this month. Authorities say the incident occurred on April 8 at 6:43 p.m. at the food court entrance to the mall. Troopers say an investigation revealed three male suspects began physically assaulting an 18-year-old as he was leaving the food court.

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - A woman's shopping trip could have ended in a carjacking, but luckily she was able to safely drive away.Police say three teen suspects approached the woman as she sat in her car in the Walmart parking lot on Route 38 Monday night.They opened her door, demanded she get out, and displayed a handgun, according to authorities.She drove away and immediately notified police.MORE HEADLINES:All three suspects were still at the Walmart when officers arrived and took them into custody.

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating an incident that began at FDR Park and ended with lane closures on I-76 West. Authorities say police responded to a report of a shooting on Pattison Avenue in the area of FDR Park in the South Philadelphia section of the city just before 3 a.m. Officers who responded to the scene did not find anything initially, according to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small. Small told reporters officers found a scene on the westbound lanes of I-76, where a Ford SUV and Infiniti Sedan were involved in a crash. According to authorities, the Ford had eight bullet holes and a 27-year-old victim in the back seat with a gunshot wound to the neck. Small says the shooting victim, who was unable to move due to the gunshot injury, was transported to Presbyterian Hospital, where he is in critical condition. Police say a 32-year-old woman was the driver of the Ford SUV. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESA 22-year-old man was driving the Infiniti and a gun was found on the vehicle's floorboard, authorities say. Investigators say a preliminary investigation revealed the drivers of both vehicles got into an altercation on the 1900 block of Pattison Avenue. According to Small, that's where crime scene technicians found 19 spent shell casings from the shooting. Officials say a PennDOT driver witnessed the incident and told authorities the two cars then drove at a high rate of speed the wrong way on I-76 West. The two vehicles eventually crashed on I-76 as police responded to the scene, police say. The 22-year-old driver of the Infiniti was taken into custody, according to Small. Lanes on I-76 West were closed for several hours but have since reopened. Police respond to lanes on I-76

PHILADELPHIA - The family of a Philadelphia woman who was killed in a hit-and-run crash by a food delivery service driver in 2020 is now suing three delivery companies they believe played a hand in the tragedy.Tiffany Reed was 29-years-old when she was struck and killed in the crosswalk of Broad Street and Lehigh Avenue after leaving her job at Wendy's. The driver, later identified as 21-year-old Todd Burton, was arrested and charged with homicide by vehicle, accident involving death and involuntary manslaughter. Burton was working for three different food delivery services when the deadly crash happened.

WILLIAMSTOWN, N.J. - The Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office announced on Tuesday that a man has been arrested and charged with manslaughter of a 17-year-old Gloucester County boy over the weekend. On Sunday, April 16, officers from the Monroe Township Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Chestnut Street in Williamstown for a report that a man had been shot. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim who had been shot in the head. Authorities say a suspect, 18-year-old Nasir D.

Philadelphia police are seeking the public's help in locating 22-year-old Jahir Williams-Hill who they say is wanted in connection with a murder on April 11.  PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are searching for a man who they say is wanted in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old woman in North Philadelphia last week. On April 11, officers responded to the 2500 block of North 10th Street for reports of a person with a gun. Responding officers were flagged down by civilian when they say they observed an unresponsive woman, later identified as 22-year-old Zhakira Bailey of the 400 block of Wannamaker Street. MORE HEADLINES Authorities say the woman was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to her body. Officers transported her to Temple University where she later died from her injuries. On Tuesday, authorities announced that they are seeking the publics help in identifying 22-year-old Jahir Williams-Hill from the 500 block of Eastwick Terrace in connection with this homicide. Officials say Williams-Hill is wanted for murder, weapons charges, and other related offenses.

BENSALEM, Pa. - The former student of a Pennsylvania prep school is accused of using Instagram to make violent threats towards the school building.The Bensalem Police Department on Tuesday said a threat was made against Holy Ghost Prep School that caused a brief shelter-in-place. Authorities believe 30-year-old Christian DeFlorio, a former student at the school, posted the threatening video on Instagram. Police say DeFlorio is currently in Miami, Florida and not a threat to students at this time. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESDeFlorio owns a white 2019 Alfa Romeo with red interior and a Pennsylvania license place of KGE-2435, police said. He is being sought on charges of making Terroristic Threats and related charges.

PHILADELPHIA - Officers with the Philadelphia Police Department are investigating a daytime double shooting that left two teenagers injured on Tuesday. Authorities say the shooting occurred on the 5100 block of Brown Street in the North Philadelphia section of the city. According to police, a 17-year-old man was shot in the left leg before running to the 100 block of N 55th Street, where he was picked up by police and transported to Penn Presbyterian Hospital. The teen was placed in stable condition, authorities say. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAnother person, identified only as an 18-year-old male, was shot in the chin, shoulder and head, according to investigators. He was also transported to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition, officials say. This is a developing story.

The report came from a 911 call where a driver said she was being "brake-checked' by a black Jeep Grand Cherokee. Police say the Jeep stopped in front of the driver, causing them to stop.

PHILADELPHIA - A very unusual, and angry, resident just got evicted from their Philadelphia home Tuesday morning - an alligator!Philadelphia Animal Control received the unexpected call to remove a 5-foot-long gator from the basement of a house in North Philadelphia.To their surprise, they arrived to find an 8-foot-long gator instead!"You're under arrest," a team of officers joked as video shows them pulling the gator from a pen, then holding it down as they tie its snout shut.The gator, named "Big Mack" by ACCT Philly, has been raised in a pen since 2012, growing to be 8 feet long, 127 pounds.MORE HEADLINES:Officials say a divorce led to the animal's "surrender" after the owner's ex-wife said she no longer wanted it in the basement.ACCT Philly is working to find a home for "Big Mack," since it's initial solution was only for a 5-foot-long gator.This is the latest wildlife situation in Philadelphia.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities in Philadelphia are investigating after a body was found in the back seat of a burning car early Tuesday morning. According to officials, police responded to a car fire in the area of Sylvester and Howell Streets in the Oxford Circle section of the city just before 1 a.m. Police say officers and medics arrived on scene to find a Honda CRV fully engulfed in flames. Once the fire department put out the flames, authorities say they realized there was a body in the back seat. The individual in the back seat was pronounced dead shortly after, according to Chief Inspector Scott Small, who says the body was burned beyond recognition. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAuthorities say the inside of the vehicle was also completely burned and there is damage to the vehicle's exterior. According to police, the car was parked there just before 1 a.m. and two people got out before the vehicle went up in flames. The person's cause of death remains under investigation, Small says. This is a developing story.

LANSDALE, Pa. - Police in Montgomery County are investigating a double shooting that left two people hospitalized late Monday evening. According to the Lansdale Police Department, detectives were dispatched to the 400 block of Walnut Street for a report of a shooting shortly before 11:30 p.m. Authorities say one person was driven to and another was airlifted to local hospitals. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESThe condition of both victims is unknown at this time. Police say there is no threat to the public. This is a developing story.

PHILADELPHIA - A local mother is speaking out against a Philadelphia daycare after she says her 6-year-old son was left alone on a school bus and had to find his way back into the building. Terralyn Jackson told FOX 29 that her son, Zaadyn, was picked up from school on Friday for an after school program at the Rock Foundation Early Learning Academy in West Oak Lane. Zaadyn ended up falling asleep on the bus during transit and when the bus arrived at the daycare, he was left behind for approximately 15-17 minutes, Jackson said. Zaadyn said he was awoken by the unseasonably warm temperatures that climbed into the mid-80s on Friday, and he found his way off the bus and through the daycare's front gate. MORE LOCAL HEADLINES"If he did not know how to get through the gate, which the lock is very high, he would’ve been on Ogontz Avenue just randomly there," Jackson said.Jackson said a parent let Zaadyn in through the main entrance of the daycare. A staff member then drove Zaadyn in the person vehicle to get water ice, which the school claims was a soothing mechanism. "I’m a single parent trying to do what’s right and best for my child and I trusted someone to take care of my child while I’m at work doing the right thing,"Rock Foundation Early Learning Academy Director Carine Dorlus told FOX 29 that the whole incident was an accident and a mistake.

PHILADELPHIA - A man was hospitalized after authorities say his gun accidentally went off during a struggle with police Monday afternoon in Philadelphia's East Germantown neighborhood. Officers from the Philadelphia Police Department were called to 5700 block of North 21st Street around 4 p.m. for reports of a person with a gun, according to police. Responding officers were flagged down by a man armed with a gun who police say had fatally shot a dog. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESWhen an officer attempted to disarm the man, investigators say a struggle ensued and the man's gun fired and struck him in the leg. The man was taken to Albert Einstein Hospital and placed in stable condition, police said. Investigator have not specified who fired the gun during the struggle.

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. - Residents in Burlington County are calling on police to enforce stricter distracted driving laws after they say drivers regularly speed through a heavily-trafficked intersection in their town, putting pedestrians' safety at risk. Concerned residents in the Larchmount section of Mount Laurel say drivers need to slow down and stop for pedestrians in the crosswalks. The high demand for police to get involved came after several residents complained that they were almost struck at the same crosswalk."If they don't stop, they could kill someone," said Wendy Walters, a resident in Mount Laurel.

SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. - A 14-year-old boy was found behind the wheel of a pickup truck that police say caused five cars to crash, sending six people to the hospital over the weekend.Several cars were stopped at Coastal Highway and Slaughter Beach Road for flashing red lights when the truck crashed into the last car in the line.The collision caused a chain reaction, propelling each car forward, until all five were crashed on the highway.Police say a 14-year-old boy was driving the truck, and that alcohol was detected on his breath. Beer bottles were also find outside the truck.MORE HEADLINES:Two passengers, a 14-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy, were also inside the truck and taken to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.Seven other people, ranging in age from 23 to 65, were in the other crashed cars.

police department in New Mexico released body camera footage that shows officers fatally shooting a homeowner after they responded to the wrong home. "All of us – the men and women of the Farmington Police Department – recognize the severity of this incident," Farmington Police Department Chief Steve Hebbe said in a statement posted to the department’s Facebook page."We will do everything we can to ensure a fuller understanding of what took place," the statement added. Rogers Communications Inc. announced Monday it will relocate around 300 Shaw call centre jobs based overseas to Canada after completing its $26-billion acquisition of the carrier earlier this month.The positions will be located in B.C., Alberta and Manitoba, where Rogers has pledged to boost the number of “customer-facing” jobs.As part of a set of conditions Ottawa attached to its approval of the merger with Shaw Communications Inc., Rogers must create 3,000 new jobs in Western Canada.All Rogers customer service positions have been based in Canada since 2020, when it announced it transitioned 150 remaining foreign call centre jobs to Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick.

(Credit: Carowinds) CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A 13-year-old boy had to be rescued from a claw machine after he attempted to steal a prize, amusement park officials said. Carowinds in Charlotte, North Carolina, said the incident happened Sunday afternoon."Carowinds was made aware of a 13-year-old male that had climbed into the Cosmic XL Bonus Game (a claw machine), manufactured by Elaut, located in Thrill Zone, for attempted theft," officials said in a statement to FOX Television Stations.

PHILADELPHIA - A passenger's ride-share trip took a violent turn when police say they became the victim of a group of juveniles earlier this month.The juveniles surrounded the vehicle as it stopped at a traffic light at 2nd and Chestnut streets in Old City, according to authorities.Police say two of them reached in to try and steal the passenger's phone, then hit them in the face as the driver pulled away.MORE HEADLINES:It is unclear if the phone was stolen, or if the victim sustained any injuries.Surveillance footage captured the suspects on a SEPTA subway platform after the incident.Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

PHILADELPHIA - A barricade situation sparked a nearby elementary school to be placed on lockdown and the evacuation of some residents in Philadelphia's Kensington section Monday morning.Police say a man armed with a firearm led officers on a foot pursuit near the 3400 block of G Street around 7:30 a.m.He ran into a nearby home, prompting police to declare a barricade and evacuate residents from the first floor.MORE HEADLINES:Gloria Casarez Elementary School was also briefly placed on lockdown, which has since been lifted.A SWAT team eventually gained access, and cleared the home with negative results, according to authorities.
