Jonathan Woody, 40, has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal shooting from 2014.  TRENTON, N.J. - A Trenton man has been arrested and charged eight years after the alleged deadly shooting, police say. According to police, Jonathan Woody, 40, was arrested and charged for the 2014 murder of Jamer Greenfield. Authorities say Woody has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, murder and related charges. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office says Woody was arrested in Trenton on Monday and a motion has been filed to detain him pending trial, officials say. Police say the shooting occurred on July 19, 2014, around 5 a.m. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAuthorities say Trenton police officers were in the area of Rosemont Avenue when they heard gunshots and saw a large group of people running from the 200 block of the street. Officers approached the scene and found Greenfield, who was 23 at the time, lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds, including a shot to the chest, according to police. Officials say Greenfield was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. "Eight years, and they never stopped," Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. - Police in Egg Harbor Township say a Philadelphia man has been arrested for an attempted luring of a child. According to authorities, police responded to Graef's Boat Yard at 101 Longport Boulevard on Sunday at 5:46 p.m.Officers met with two civilians who run a YouTube channel dedicated to catching child predators, police say. According to investigators, the YouTubers posed as an underage girl and they had messages they exchanged with 57-year-old Roger Tomes of Philadelphia. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESTomes thought he was communicating with a 15-year-old girl who he told to meet him on his boat in Egg Harbor Township to engage in sexual and illegal activities, police say. Police arrested Tomes and charged him with luring, according to officials. According to the Egg Harbor Township Police Chief, Tomes could face up to ten years in prison and a penalty of up to $150,000 if convicted. Anyone with any additional information is urged to contact police at 609-652-1234.

PHILADELPHIA - City officials have reported two heat-realted deaths in Philadelphia over the weekend as a dangerous heatwave continues to bake the Delaware Valley. A spokesperson for the Philadelphia Department of Public Health told FOX 29 that both deaths happened during the city's Heat Health Emergency. The spokesperson did not share information on the age of the people who died or the circumstances that lead to their deaths. Philadelphia declared a Heat Health Emergency last week as temperatures cranked into the mid-to-upper 90s with humidity. CROWELL, Texas - A North Texas wind farm is one turbine down thanks to what officials believe was a devastating lightning strike to one of the massive structures on Friday afternoon.Videos from witnesses and firefighters showed the wind turbine generator ablaze and disintegrate in the sky over Crowell, Texas.Doppler radar indicated there was plenty of lightning strikes around the Foard City wind facility before firefighters received the call about the high-altitude fire.Lightning struck a wind turbine on Friday afternoon in Crowell, Texas.HOW TO WATCH FOX WEATHER ON TVCrews with the Crowell Volunteer Fire Department responded, but Fire Chief Perry Shaw said there was little his firefighters could do to put the fire out."We’re not equipped to handle that kind of fire. MOUNT PLEASANT, Pa. - A prosecutor says a state trooper was justified in shooting and killing an armed man during a traffic stop following a reported theft from a western Pennsylvania mall.Washington County District Attorney Jason Walsh said Friday that an investigation "unequivocally" concluded that the unnamed trooper reasonably believed that deadly force was needed to prevent death or serious injury to himself.Walsh said the trooper fired seven shots at Dennis Fonoimoana, 26, of Burgettstown, hitting him five times after he brandished a firearm.Police said troopers were called to the Washington County mall May 22 after a store reported a retail theft. Police said the suspects' vehicle was spotted and stopped minutes later in Mount Pleasant Township and the driver was taken into custody, but a passenger refused to leave.Walsh said the passenger, Fonoimoana, refused to comply with commands to show the trooper his hands, and the trooper believed he heard the rack of a gun and then saw a gun in the man's hand.

July 6, 2000 - July 3, 2022 (NASA) LAKE MEAD, Ariz. - A megadrought impacting the Southwest continues to deplete water levels in Lake Mead, making areas that were once underwater now visible from space.NASA released a series of images Wednesday that showed the deterioration of the lake’s level over the last two decades.The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation said water stages are near levels last seen in April 1937, and it’s estimated the reservoir is at 27 percent of capacity.The series of images show an increase in light-colored fringes along the shoreline, which indicates the depleting water levels and the increasing visibility of land.Lake Mead satellite pictures since the year 2000 show the decreasing water level.

Humboldt Broncos bus crash are sharing their thoughts the day after the truck driver responsible for the crash was granted day parole.On Wednesday, the Parole Board of Canada granted Jaskirat Singh Sidhu day parole for six months. Sidhu will get full parole after those six months if he follows all conditions, including not contacting the families of the victims.

MESA, Ariz. - Police in Mesa arrested a couple after investigators discovered their children living in a home full of trash and no running water.An anonymous tip led detectives to the home on July 20.The couple's three young girls told officers they had no food or water and that they would often walk to a neighbor's home for help.

Ontario government says it will extend its paid sick days program for missed work as a result of COVID-19 until the end of March 2023.The extension will last another eight months until March 31, 2023.Eligible workers will continue to get up to $200 a day for up to three days if they need to get tested, vaccinated, get booster shots, self-isolate or care for a family member who is ill from COVID-19, the government said.The government said it will keep reimbursing eligible employers for the paid leave days. Ford government urged to extend paid sick leave amid COVID-19 wave Earlier in July, Premier Doug Ford was urged to extend the program as it was slated to end on July 31.The provincial Worker Income Protection Benefit program was first introduced in April 2021 during the Alpha-Delta-driven wave of COVID-19 and extended amid the Omicron stage of the pandemic.Since the program was implemented, government data shows around half-a-million workers have relied on the program to call in sick without interrupting their pay.Previously, as of June 24, the government had said 470,000 workers have claimed a sick day, costing the province $189 million.
