Former Tottenham and Portsmouth Harry Redknapp has reminded James Maddison that he tipped him as a star of the future when he first saw him play in Coventry's reserve team years ago.

Maddison was born and raised in Coventry and was included in the first-team squad in the 2013–14 season, though did not make an appearance.

After playing 46 matches for the Sky Blues he earned a move to Norwich in 2016, before going on to join Leicester in 2018. Redknapp recalled his first impression of Maddison while seeing him in action for Coventry reserves against his QPR side.
