Primary schools will be opening their doors again in a matter of weeks but things are going to be very different when the children return to class.

Life won't be the same when kids go back after two months of home schooling away from their friends and their teachers. Britain’s primary pupils face an alien landscape when they return - but what exactly is going to have changed?

Many youngsters lived for lunchtimes with their pals but for now they will be spent at desks. Outside play equipment is to be cordoned off, toilet times will be scheduled and contact with teachers so limited that they won’t even be able to put a plaster on a child who falls over.
