The changes, which were revealed last night (Tuesday), will come into effect from Monday, September 14.The government held daily briefings from Downing Street on its response to the pandemic between mid-March and the end of June.Televised press conferences were scrapped on June 23, with Number 10 saying it would only hold future briefings to coincide with significant announcements.Today's press briefing will be held by the Prime Minister, who is expected to be joined by scientists Sir Patrick Vallance and Professor Chris Whitty.
