Omicron variant has become highly transmissible, with at least one death confirmed in the UK - in response to the spread of the new variant, the government have agreed to set new restrictions.

On Wednesday, the measures as part of 'Plan B' will come into force in England despite a massive revolt by Tory MPs this evening.The measures which include the introduction of Covid passes for most venues, passed the Commons after support from Labour, who have backed stricter controls.MPs also voted for vaccinations to be made mandatory to frontline health and care staff from April 2022.Here are the other rules that will come into force from Wednesday:Covid statusIt will be mandatory for nightclubs and big venues to check the Covid status of guests.
