Waterloo school board pushing for special educators to get priority COVID-19 vaccinations “We are grateful for our partnership with Region of Waterloo Public Health to help us prioritize vaccination for our most vulnerable staff,” WCDSB director of education Loretta Notten stated.“We value the work and service of all our staff and this first step energizes us that things are moving in a hopeful direction.”The boards say eligible staff are being contacted with registration instructions.The province made a similar announcement on Wednesday as it said education workers in high-risk neighbourhoods in Toronto and Peel Region will be eligible for vaccination during the April break next week.

Edmonton International Airport are being offered rapid COVID-19 testing as part of an eight-week pilot program meant to streamline results for workers who are exposed to travellers.Mobile medical services provider Numi Health Inc. partnered with Alberta Health Services to offer the pilotThe voluntary rapid tests take less than 30 minutes from swab to result and are available to asymptomatic employees who work with the public, such as airline staff and employees at restaurants and shops in the terminal.“People can return to work safely, or go to work safely and not hopefully worry too much about picking up the virus from co-workers at the airport,” Verburg said.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - As a man who was wanted in connection to a murder led authorities on a lengthy chase across SoCal, a big rig truck driver decided to take action Tuesday night.The big rig truck driver, Ahmed Shabaan, said he tried to end the dangerous pursuit by blocking the pickup truck's path. Shabaan said he knew a murder suspect was involved in the chase so he tracked the driver, lined the big rig truck so the suspect's pickup truck would smash into the massive vehicle near an intersection in the Pomona area."I just thought to get him off the street," Shabaan explained.
