A woman, whose mother died in a nursing home on Good Friday due to coronavirus, has praised the work that was done for her mother by health staff in the lead up to her death.
Speaking on RTÉ's Liveline, Grainne Fitzgerald said her mother, Doreen Corrigan, received first class care in the nursing home before she died.
Mrs Fitzgerald said: "I just want to say that the folks who looked after my mum for the last 13 months were absolutely brilliant. "They gave her a wonderful quality of life for the last 13 months, even though she was suffering severely from dementia and most of the time, didn't know what was going on around her, but was always quite happy to smile and wander down the corridor and hug people.
