WWE fans have united to show their support after news that 21 superstars, including Kurt Angle and Drake Maverick, have been released by the company due to coronavirus cuts.

WWE was one of the few sports organisations still operating during the COVID-19 pandemic but bosses announced on Wednesday that it was furloughing a portion of its workforce and releasing on-screen talent.

They announced various other moves to cut costs and improve cash flow, including: reducing the salaries of executives and board members; decreasing operating expenses; cutting talent expenses, third party staffing and consulting; and deferring spending on the construction of the company's new headquarters for at least six months.
