Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The lithium-ion battery packs in the 42-volt Jetson Rogue self-balancing scooters/hoverboards can overheat and pose a fire hazard, according to the recall notice posted by the CPSC.

In April 2022, a 10-year-old girl and her 15-year-old sister were killed in a fire that broke out in Hellertown, Pennsylvania. HYUNDAI AND KIA TO RECALL MORE THAN HALF MILLION VEHICLES OVER FIRE CONCERNAlthough the cause of the fire is still undetermined, the "Hellertown Borough Fire Marshal determined that a 42-volt Jetson Rogue was the point of origin of the fire," according to the notice. "The fire then spread from the room of origin to other portions of the house, resulting in the deaths of the two girls and smoke inhalation injuries to the girls’ parents," the recall continued.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. - Authorities say a woman they believe was the victim of an abduction is dead after a chase and shootout between police and her suspected kidnapper along Interstate 95 in Virginia.Officials say a Virginia State Police trooper spotted an SUV with the wrong license plates attached Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. in the Springfield area of Fairfax County.The trooper initiated a stop and identified the driver as 34-year-old Michael C. Davis.

Nationwide study: Dangerous driving on US roads has reached 'alarming highs'

LOS ANGELES - A recent study from insurance provider Nationwide has found that dangerous driving behavior in the U.S. has reached "alarming highs." According to the study, published last month, researchers noted that of all drivers, Gen Z consisted of the worst offenders when it comes to unsafe driving habits. 59% of Gen Z drivers reported being more impatient on the road than they were a year ago and 47% reported driving faster and using a hand-held device while behind the wheel. Nationwide said it also found that many drivers are highly critical of other drivers on the road while rating their own performance behind the wheel to be exceptional. 86% of drivers rated their own driving behavior as excellent or very good while only 23% gave good ratings to others on the road. More than half of Americans admitted to driving 10+ mph above the speed limit over the past 12 months, according to the study.
