It’s great to see more than 60% of eligible Māori across the motu have now received a booster dose. This milestone is an opportunity to celebrate the mahi of staff at vaccine clinics, health providers and iwi who have led the way to ensure Māori are well protected against COVID-19.

As always, there’s still work to do. The Ministry of Health strongly encourages everyone who is eligible to get their booster dose, which will help protect themself and others in the community from Omicron.

The booster dose greatly reduces the likelihood that you will become severely ill and require hospital care if you catch Omicron.

If you are 18 years or older and had your second vaccination at least three months ago, please get your booster as soon as you can.
