Number of people in hospital with Covid falls

There has been a reduction in the number of people with Covid-19 in hospital, after the figure hit the highest level in more than seven weeks yesterday.

Today, there are 895 patients in hospital with the virus, down 12 on yesterday. It compares to 673 last Saturday and 583 on this day two weeks ago.

While after falling to the lowest level in seven months yesterday, there has been a slight rise in the number of people with Covid in intensive care units.

There are 41 patients with the coronavirus receiving treatment in ICU today, an increase of four on yesterday. The figure compares to 43 last Saturday and 49 on this day two weeks ago.
