Alec Baldwin has left many angry by calling Blackout Tuesday a 'national day of whatever.' The US actor is also facing backlash Alec Baldwin for promoting his new podcast interview with controversial director Woody Allen during the day.

Blackout Tuesday saw many stars sharing a black square on their social media in the hope of leaving an online focus on the Black Lives Matter campaign.

However, Baldwin, 62, shared several posts about the interview - and was immediately met with fury from his followers. This was for only his choice to sit down with Allen, who has been accused of sexual assault by his adopted daughter, which he has profusely denied, but also for his 'tone-deaf' timing.
