MENDON, Mo. - The Missouri State Highway Patrol said at least four people were killed when an Amtrak train derailed after hitting a dump truck in Missouri at a crossing Monday.Authorities initially said two people were killed inside the train and one person was killed in the truck.
They did not release their names. A fourth person died from injuries suffered in an Amtrak train derailment in Missouri, the state highway patrol said Tuesday.
The patrol said the person died at the University of Missouri Health Center. The person’s identity was not released. The patrol said the fourth fatality was aboard the Southwest Chief trainThe patrol said law enforcement and Amtrak officials say about 150 people were taken from the scene to 10 area hospitals.
