Arsenal are aiming to reach an agreement with two of the three remaining rebels over pay cuts after facing a backlash over Mesut Ozil.
The Gunners confirmed a voluntary agreement with first-team players, coaches and staff yesterday to take a 12.5 per cent pay cut during the coronavirus lockdown.
But Ozil, who is the club’s highest earner at £350,000-a-week, refused to join his team-mates in accepting the terms. And the Mirror reported that he was joined by two other player in rebelling against the north London side’s agreement.
Arsenal, though, are in ongoing talks with the players and are optimistic they will join the other 24 players in who have accepted the terms.
