Asda is the latest supermarket to announce a number of social distancing measures to be implemented in its stores. From Wednesday (March 25) rules will be in place that will ensure shoppers stay two metres apart in line with government orders amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Supermarkets are allowed to stay open while the UK is in lockdown, however shoppers have been told they can only make a trip if they need essential items and they must go as little as possible.
Asda says it will be installing Perspex screens at its checkouts, pharmacies and service desks to protect staff. Markers will be placed on the floor in stores so that shoppers know how far apart they need to be.
