An asylum seeker has attacked passers-by with a knife in a shocking attack in the south of France leaving two people dead and two injured.
Early reports indicate the knifeman is a 33-year-old Sudanese asylum seeker and reported to be suspected jihadist. He has since been arrested and armed police have been pictured at the scene.
The man reportedly walked into a butcher's shop around 11am, picked up a knife from the counter and started attacking passers-by, report i24news.
Several witnesses say the assailant allegedly yelled 'Allah Akbar' at the time of the stabbing spree, French outlet ACTU17 report.
