Barbara Windsor's husband heartbroken he may have to put her in a home amid Alzehimer's

Barbara Windsor's husband has told of his heartbreak after he was told it might be best for her to be cared for in a home. Barbara, 82, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease six years ago, with husband Scott, 57, as her primary carer.

But after a consultation from a specialist, he recognised that he may have to put her in care. During a chat with Ross Kemp - who played Barbara's onscreen son in EastEnders - for his new documentary, Scott told that he'd been through "dark moments" since the meeting. "It's the thing I've always feared," he told, "He's basically telling me I need to prepare myself that at some point it may not be sustainable to give her the kind of care she needs at the house.
