Besiktas have confirmed that eight club staff, including players, have tested positive for coronavirus. The Turkish side have been out of action since March 19 as Covid-19’s spread saw football across Europe suspended.
Despite spending nearly two months in lockdown, Besiktas have confirmed cases of the disease at Vodafone Park. A statement from Dr Tekin Ulku on the club’s website reads: “On Wednesday, May 13, the Covid-19 test was conducted for all of our footballers, technical delegations and facility staff at BJK Nevzat Demir Facilities. “As a result of the tests, positive Covid-19 test results were detected in eight people. “The follow-up and treatment process of the people whose test results are positive has started immediately in line
