WASHINGTON - President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will kick off inaugural events in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday with a lighting ceremony to honor the nearly 400,000 Americans who have died during the coronavirus pandemic.

The somber event will take place Tuesday evening at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, soon after Biden arrives at the nation’s capital.

The president-elect will take the oath of office on Wednesday with a mix of in-person and virtual events planned to mark the occasion.
